A service centre does not just happen; it requires months of effort from various colleagues, suppliers and other stakeholders.
Crucial steps
One of the crucial steps is checking whether the sorting process is working properly. And to test this, you need, right, test boxes. To produce these test boxes, we called on the customisation company AMAB.
AMAB is a non-profit organisation run by a voluntary board of business leaders and social economy experts. They provide a protected and permanent workplace for 700 people with various disabilities, with the aim of facilitating access to the labour market.
DHL-DNA
Even in the world of projects, their DHL DNA shines through. Not only in the delivery of new facilities that improve their service to their customers for years to come. But sometimes they can also connect with the communities in which they operate and improve lives there.
The Courcelles project in Belgium is a perfect example of this.
At their three locations around Brussels, they encourage people to develop their skills. Both at the various AMAB sites and on client assignments. AMAB has a turnover of €12 million a year, through regular contracts and custom orders, such as those from DHL.
Kris Kerfs, project manager, and Fillip Von Hoorick, Equipment & Infrastructure Engineer, came up with the idea of working with AMAB. Nine days after request, the order was completed and ready for sorting test.
“Each box had a sticker in the corner with the weight and dimensions. Their attention to detail and anticipation of what the customer needs really helped and improved the testing process,” says Fillip Von Hoorick.
Many thanks to the CRL project team. They show us yet again how to integrate good things. And this in everything we do. They can have a positive impact on our local communities. This by sometimes just thinking out-of-the-(test)box when choosing suppliers.
