Carbon neutral buildings

It’s a priority for DHL Express to have carbon neutral buildings. As the most international company in the world, operating in more than 220 countries and territories, we possess a significant number of physical assets, including warehouses, sorting centers/hubs/terminals, office buildings, and more. Our goal is to use the latest green technologies to achieve carbon neutrality in all of our buildings worldwide.

Newly built service centers have BREAAM certificates, are completely gas free and equipped with solar panels. Rainwater is also collected and re-used. We really want to make sure that our buildings are carbon neutral. It helps us in achieving our goal to reduce our logistics-related CO2 emissions to zero by 2050.

BREAAM is an internationally recognised integral assessment method for determining the sustainability performance of buildings. Our DHL Service Centers in Antwerp and Roeselare already meet the requirements of the BREAAM label. And the DHL Service Centre in Courcelles is built according to the BREAAM standards.

We don’t just want to have sustainable buildings. Our aim is to be sustainable in all aspects of our business. We now offer Sustainable Aviation Fuel for our customers, so that we can continue to work towards a sustainable future. Want to learn more about our sustainability goals? Visit our Go Green page.
