Follow your parcel

Nobody home? Don't worry about your delivery!
Not going to be home when your parcel is due to arrive? No problem. Even if your parcel is already on its way, you can often still change where, when and sometimes even how it will be delivered.
Delivery to a safe place
Since June, most B2C shipments are delivered to a safe place by default, unless you have selected a different preference. This gives you more flexibility and allows you to receive your parcel when it suits you best.
Please note, however, that not all shipments are eligible for this option. The sender must allow it, the parcel value cannot be too high, and the courier must consider the location safe enough. With On Demand Delivery, you can specify your delivery preferences.
Delivery to a different address
You can always have your parcel delivered to a different address. Think of a friend’s house, a neighbour’s address or a family member’s home. Your work address is also an option — just make sure to let your employer know in advance. Or why not choose the nearest DHL Express Service Point to your holiday destination?
Tip: Didn’t think of this in time? No worries. Even if your parcel is already in transit, you can often still redirect it.
Delivery with or without signature
Many parcels are sent without an explicit signature requirement. Depending on the value of your parcel, it may still be worth requesting a signature on delivery. This gives you extra reassurance that your parcel will not end up in the wrong hands. You can also request a confirmation by phone. If a signature is not necessary, you can also request delivery without a signature, provided the sender allows this.
Postpone your delivery
Of course, you can also arrange to have your parcel delivered at a later date or held for up to two weeks, so you can receive it once you are back home. Planning makes all the difference.
