EORI number mandatory for all your imports outside the EU

EORI number

A new customs regulation is applicable within the European Union as from 1st January 2017. This means that for all imports coming from outside the EU you will be identified based on an EORI number (Economic Operator’s Registration and Identification).

What is the objective of this number, created by the European Union and the state members? The number is there to secure the commercial trades in & out of the EU. The number is unique, assigned and recognized by the EU customs authorities. The number is already mandatory for all companies and every export outside the European Union.

How do I get an EORI number?

Maybe you already have an EORI number for your exports? In that case, please note that you can use the same one for your imports. You don’t have a number yet? Ask customs by completing their EORI request form.

And then you’re ready to ship!
